Ian Booth

Ian Booth is an independent film producer and entertainment lawyer with clients based in Western Australia, Sydney and Melbourne. Ian previously worked as Business Affairs Manager for Drama and Comedy at the ABC in Melbourne. Prior to the ABC he was the Business Affairs Manager at ScreenWest for three and a half years. Ian started his career as a lawyer in Western Australia in 1994. Since returning to Western Australia in mid 2003 Ian has set up his own practice as a solicitor practising primarily in film and television law. He has also established the production company Sassafras Films as a producer of film and television projects.

Ian discussed different financing scenarios for feature films, television series and documentaries.Ian also discussed his experiences in co-producing the half hour drama Hidden Creatures - which has just currently wrapped, starring Bud Tingwell.

Edmond Engelbrecht

Edmond Engelbrecht is a Perth based Visual FX Artist/3D Animator specialising on producing visual FX for Film, TVC and music videos. His previous works include VFX for music videos for The Waifs, Diesel, Jeff Lang and films such as Phaid (Winner, Best short film, Dubrovnik film festival), Victim and Roll.

He took us behind the scenes of his latest work creating a CG animated fly for the Karnivool music video Themata.
